Cage Warriors returns for its first show of 2018 and boasts an exceptional night of fights including fan favourite, Paddy “The Baddy” Pimblett and culminates with a flyweight title between Molly McCann and Byrony Tyrell.
Liverpool’s Echo Arena plays host to an exhilarating night of fights as one of Europe’s most beloved promotions makes its return for the first time in 2018.
One of the most intriguing fighters on the card opens up proceedings as Liverpool’s own Paddy Pimblett (13-2) returns after a 10 month absence to face Greek fighter, Alexis Savvidis (16-6-1).
Pimblett enters the cage on the back of a disappointing defeat to Nad Narimani and a subsequent injury which sidelined the Liverpudlian for many months.
Speaking to SevereMMA.com during the week, Pimblett appears eager to put on a show for his hometown crowd on Saturday night.
I’m sure there’ll be those doubting me for my comeback, but the last time I had ten months out, I came back and smoked Ashleigh Grimshaw when I was the underdog, so these ten months have done me justice.
In the main event of the evening, Liverpool’s own Moly McCann (6-1) competes against multiple time national and European champion Bryony Tyrell (4-1-1) for the vacant flyweight title.
Tyrell makes her Cage Warriors debut and is looking to cause an upset in her inaugural appearance.
McCann is coming off an impressive performance against Priscila de Souza last October at Cage Warriors 88 and looks to welcome Tyrell into a baptism of fire.
All of the action begins on the SPORTbible Facebook page from 7pm.
The main card action begins at 9pm and viewers can catch the action on UFC Fight Pass or BT Sport 3. Alternatively, fight fans can keep across all the action in the WritingIrish live blog and Twitter.
