Chris Fields and Paul Redmond set their eyes on glory at KSW 44

KSW – Europe’s most lauded promotion – returns to Gdansk this Saturday night and features two of Ireland’s most popular MMA fighters in Chris Fields and Paul Redmond.

Chris Fields (12-7-1) has fought once before under the KSW banner when he earned a unanimous decision victory over Michal Fijalka at KSW 40 in Dublin last year.

Originally scheduled to fight Marcin Wojcik at KSW 42, Fields was forced to withdraw from the bout after Storm Emma wreaked havoc across Ireland earlier this year.

Now, Fields has his eyes firmly set on light-heavyweight gold and has impressed since moving up to 205lbs.

“The Housewives Choice” is currently on a two fight winning streak and will be hoping to make light work of former UFC contender Wagner Prado (13-3-1NC) who makes his promotional debut on Saturday night.

The Brazilian has been on an inconsistent wave of late but with 12 KO/TKO victories to his credit, he’s an opponent that shouldn’t be taken lightly.

Fields may have the reach advantage and arguably possesses some of the most under rated kicking power in European MMA.

Also representing the Irish is Paul “Redser” Redmond (14-7) who makes his second appearance for KSW. Redmond, who fights out of Team Ryano has fought on every major promotion to date and has no qualms about fighting anybody, anywhere and at anytime.

Redmond has impressed as of late and has made significant improvements in every fight and this is reflected in his recent record and is looking to make it four wins from four as he takes on Gracjan Szadzinski (7-2) in an intriguing lightweight scrap.

The Pole is riding a wave of momentum himself and in his last two fights has ended each contest by vicious KO in the very first round.

Food for thought for Redmond as he may have to employ a tactical gameplan to avoid an early onslaught from Szadzinksi and his heavy hands.

The Pole is primarily a heavy handed striker and although Redmond possesses fight stopping power of his own, he is well rounded on the ground too and has five submission finishes of his own which may be the path to victory for the Dubliner.
