Lee has been linked with various fighters but says that he is likely to fight Anthony Pettis at UFC 229.
With a lightweight title fight on the horizon, Kevin Lee wants to add to the fireworks and claims that his next fight will be against Anthony Pettis in a high level bout at 155lbs.
Speaking on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show on Monday, the ever brash Kevin Lee was discussing his future opponents and told Helwani that Anthony Pettis is likely to be his next opponent.
“I have been looking at guys like Al Iaquinta but he seems more interested in Twitter. I like the Anthony Pettis fight though”
Lee has been known to get under his opponents skin but insists that there is no animosity towards Pettis.
“There’s no beef there. Anthony is a great fighter and he was the one that introduced me to a really high level of fighting. The UFC is interested and we’re just waiting on Anthony”
Lee is adamant that the fight will happen but insists that he’s going to make his way to Las Vegas for the high profile fight regardless.
“I’m planning to go there anyway whether it be in the cage or the front row. It’s my division. I’m going to make championship weight because you never know what could happen to the main event”.
Kevin Lee last fought in April and was victorious against Edson Barboza and has already been training despite not being matched up.
