The former middleweight champion is moving up to light heavyweight and believes that Jon Jones is “beatable”.
Luke Rockhold (16-4) has been dealt with some big setbacks and the former middleweight believes that he can showcase some of his best talents at 205lbs.
Speaking to TMZ, Rockhold shot out a warning to current champion Jon Jones.
I’m coming princess. I saw him (Jones) fight at UFC 232 and I like my chances. He’s good on the feet and tactical but I thought he looked beatable
Speaking of his move up a division, Rockhold claims that he’s never felt healthier in his career.
I was killing myself to get down to 185lbs and my body falls apart in training. Being at this weight class (205lbs) feels right. I feel healthy and I’ll come prove myself
It’s no secret that the UFC’s light heavyweight division is at bare bones at the top of the tree and it is also possible that Jon Jones may move up to heavyweight to chase a trilogy fight with his arch nemesis Daniel Cormier.
Rockhold understands that he won’t be granted a title shot off the bat but he does have the credentials and skills to add something new to the light heavyweight division.
Rockhold’s debut at 205lbs has not been set just yet but it will likely be sooner rather than later but has not been shy in calling out Yoel Romero for his first dance.
I want the Yoel Romero rematch at light heavyweight. I’ll kick his ass there.
