Tyron Woodley to defend belt against Kamaru Usman at UFC 235

The welterweight fighters had been engaged in a back and forth war of words during the week and now they will engage in battle on March 2nd.

In a week when UFC 235 was without any sort of main event, the UFC have now secured two potential title fights for the upcoming PPV card in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Dana White confirmed earlier that Jon Jones is likely to defend his belt against Anthony Smith but this depends on a few factors including Jones receiving a licence to fight in Nevada.

Kamaru Usman issued a statement on Twitter during the week that a fight agreement had been signed but the champion had fired back at Usman saying that nothing had been agreed.

In a back and forth, “will they, won’t they?” scenario, it now appears that the fight is definitely going ahead according to ESPN.com and the bout is set to be officially announced in the coming days.

Colby Covington had weighed in on the online spat between the pair but it seems that he has been shelved for the time being and no word of an upcoming fight for Covington is forthcoming.
