UFC Brooklyn: Donald Cerrone halts Hernandez hype train with big finish

Despite being a big underdog, “Cowboy” Cerrone got it done in a big way against Alexander Hernandez who was riding an eight fight win streak coming into the fight.

It had been a subdued build up to the fight from Donald Cerrone who returned to lightweight to take on Alexander Hernandez on Saturday night in the UFC’s first event of the year.

The fight began with a back and forth brawl in the centre of the Octagon but it was Cerrone who got the better of Hernandez in round 2 when he was able to stun Hernandez with a big head kick and followed up with a barrage of punches to end the fight.

Cerrone was a betting underdog in the lead up to the fight but experience was the key for “Cowboy” who fought for the 30th time under the UFC banner.

Cerrone was not shy in calling out Conor McGregor in his post fight interview. There’s no doubt that the Irishman will respond in due time but for now you can catch the finish below.
