UFC Brooklyn: Greg Hardy gets disqualified in UFC debut

The much maligned Greg Hardy didn’t exactly have the best of debuts as he found himself disqualified after firing an illegal knee to Allen Crowder.

Greg Hardy’s first stint into the big leagues of MMA was always going to be controversial but it couldn’t have ended any worse for the former NFL star when he landed a blatant illegal knee to Allen Crowder who was officially downed on the canvas.

Hardy was heavy on the attack in the early goings of the fight but Crowder was able to take Hardy down and saw the former linebacker see a second round for the first time in his professional career.

In the second round, Hardy looked visibly tired but kept coming forward as Crowder was heard taunting his opponent in the centre of the Octagon. Crowder ate a punch from Hardy that dropped him but Hardy landed a huge illegal knee to the downed opponent and as a result lost the fight via disqualification.

It is difficult to know what the aftermath will be but it will surely be an interesting week ahead when the dust settles on the event.
